Biografia
Linkin Park se inicio en la Ciudad de los Ángeles, al sur de California (EEUU).
La banda se formó en 1996 por Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hann y Phoenix, al principio con el nombre de Hybrid Theory. Mas tarde Phoenix abandonó la banda y se fue de gira con otro grupo llamado Snax, y con su salida se unió el vocalista Chester Bennington.
Después de un tiempo cambiaron el nombre de la banda por el de Linkin Park. Este nuevo nombre se debía a una variación de Lincoln Park, que fue cambiado por problemas legales.
Así todo estaba preparado para empezar, y en su primera actuación en un club de los Ángeles impactaron al público. Y rápidamente obtuvieron un contrato discográfico con el sello de Warner Brothers Records, en la que Don Gilmore produjo su primer álbum.
Linkin Park edita su álbum presentación Hybrid Theory a finales de 2000, realizando sus primeras actuaciones como teloneros en los conciertos de grupos como Deftones, Roots, Aphex Twin y Nine Inch Nails. Para la grabación del disco contaron con la colaboración de los Dust Brothers y del productor Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Eve 6, Tracy Bonham). El grupo con este primer disco ha conseguido sentarse a la derecha de Deftones y a la izquierda de KoRn, ganando el aprecio de los críticos y vendiendo un millón de copias en pocos meses.
A fines de marzo apareció su nuevo disco, Meteora. Somewhere I Belong es el primer tema que se lanza al mercado de Meteora, un álbum muy esperado que es la continuación del multi-platino Hybrid Theory. La salida del disco coincidirá con una breve gira por Europa, luego de la cual Linkin Park regresará a Estados Unidos para iniciar el Projeckt Revolution Tour 2003.
En la producción de Meteora estuvieron el rapero de la banda, Mike Shinoda, y el ingeniero Don Gilmore, quien ya trabajó en el multimillonario Hybrid Theory. Ambos han adelantado que la dirección musical de este álbum es más pesada, sin que esto haya significado sacrificar el filo melódico de Linkin Park.
Linkin Park intervino en el "Summer Sonic Festival" de Japón el 12 y el 13 de agosto de 2006. En diciembre de 2006 se mencionaba en la página del grupo que en 2007 lanzarían un nuevo álbum titulado Minutes to Midnight y el 6 de marzo de 2007, Mike Shinoda lo confirmó en su MySpace y en el de Linkin Park, el cual se lanzó el 15 de mayo (2007) en Estados Unidos y el 14 de mayo en los demás países.
Mike Shinoda se unió con Mark Wakefield (ex cantante del grupo Xero) para hacer una cancion sobre la campaña politica de Barack Obama, la cancion es llamada "Barack your world" es una parodia con un video incluido.
En el 2008, Chester Bennington, cantante de la banda, anunció en una entrevista de MTV que el cuarto álbum de estudio será un "Album Conceptual", gracias a las ideas que aportó un amigo suyo. Éste álbum comenzó a grabarse en el mes de diciembre de 2008, y se espera que su lanzamiento oficial sea en Junio o Julio de 2009.
El 27 de Febrero se confirmó que Linkin Park encabezaría la lista de bandas a presentar en el Summer Sonic 2009 el cual se llevará a cabo los días 7, 8 y 9 de Agosto, junto a bandas como Nine Inch Nails y Placebo.
